Hello Everyone,

In the Bible in I Samuel 17 you can find the story of David and Goliath. Patricia Pingry retells this in a book The Story of David and we will share parts of it for our lesson. A long long time ago there was a boy who was a shepherd who loved his sheep so much that he played music for them on his hand held harp and whenever a big wild animal came too near to his sheep David would scare them away with his slingshot. One day his parents sent him with food to take to his brothers who were with the army of Israel getting ready for a battle with a giant, but they were very scared of the giant because he would yell and say mean things. No one wanted to fight the giant except David who wasn’t afraid because he knew God would protect him just like He did with the big wild animals. David even said, “Why is God’s army scared? I will fight this giant.” So David without any heavy armor and just his small bag of smooth stones for his slingshot ran toward Goliath the giant saying, “I come to fight you in the name of the LORD ALMIGHTY, the living God,” Goliath laughed. David took out one of his smooth stones, placed it in the slingshot and the stone hit Goliath and he fell to the ground. The army behind David called “Hooray, Hooray.” The army behind the Giant ran away.

If you have anything in your life that is scary you just turn to God and he will protect, guard, and guide you and everyone, always, so you can shout Hooray, Hooray!
